Paw Paw Cafe Review

The Wanderlife team and I are suckers for amazing breakfast spots across the globe. I however, being Australian, have been spoilt for choice and breakfast experiences and have become some what of a brekkie snob. Despite  globe trotting all over Europe, I’ve never seemed to of found any cafe’s that live up to my Australian Big breakfast standards . Luckily for me, I am currently back in Aus and recently discovered Paw Paw cafe during my road trip up the East Coast. It’s a big call but I am going to say that Paw Paw Cafe is one of the best Breakfast spots in the Brisbane area with a killer menu that leaves you spoilt for choice. If you don’t believe me then rock up on the weekend and see how packed they are for yourself and try anything on there menu. I’ll be surprised if you’re not planning your next visit! What I love most about Paw Paw is just how many healthy choices they have. The menu boats Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, and Dairy free options which will please the pickiest of breakfast hipsters and if you’re not on a health kick and want to indulge, then don’t worry there’s more than one or two indulgent choices for you too!

Superfood Greens

This gluten free, diary free, vegetarian creation is perfect if you’ve been naughty all week long and want to kick start your weekend the healthy way. Packed with everything green, this bowl has asparagus, broccolini, kale, spinach, roast sweet potato, pomegranate, goji berries, seeds, pumpkin puree & poached eggs. Pair it with a green juice and you’re good to go!

Banoffee French toast

If you’re feeling a little naughty then the Banoffee French toast is a go to at Paw Paw. This Vegetarian dish is naughty but oh so nice with Brioche on the bottom layer with caramelised banana, salted caramel, honey cinnamon mascarpone, aerated chocolate. If you’re going all out then you can add double smoked bacon. Hmmm yes!!!

Smashed Avocado and Pumpkin

My personal go to for breakfast is always avocado on toast, but Paw Paw have gotten creative with the cult favourites and added Pumpkin to keep Avo and toast connoisseurs like me on there toes. You can have this dish with rye bread or opt for it on gluten free toast and enjoy smashed avocado, pickled carrot, radish, pistachio dukkah & pumpkin puree. Need a protein hit? Just add two eggs any way you like and your sorted!

Coco whip (coconut ice cream)

There’s not many things that are as on trend as coconut ice cream right now and Paw Paw have there finger on the pulse with there soft serve coco whip ice cream which is a diary alternative made from natural coconut water and coco probiotic.  It’s sugar free and 99% fat free. An added bonus is that it’s also gluten-free, dairy and lactose free making it the perfect vegan friendly treat. We highly recommend Paw Paw’s coco whip bowls from an refreshing fruity breakfast that’s guilt free.

Donuts are amazing and they don’t need much explaining but whats better than donuts you say? Vegan donuts in various flavours. We are a fan!

Skinny Kitchen review: The Healthiest cafe/food

In between long island ice teas and too many Mojitos, even the most dedicated Ibiza raver needs to refuel and reenergise themselves. To help that Wanderlife has found ibiza’s best spot to do just that while on the island!
Skinny Kitchen is without a doubt the best healthy kitchen on the island of Ibiza. During Wanderlife’s recent trip there with Together Week we became Skinny Kitchen obsessed and ended up eating there basically every day. The menu is totally health conscious and vast with a focus on low calorie healthy homemade meals, detox smoothies, protein shakes, vegetarian and vegan options, gluten free dishes and so much more, variety isn’t lacking at Skinny! The cafe is all about eating healthy and leaving with no regrets and I can vouch that you’ll be able to do just that.

Aside from a menu that’s drool worth, Skinny kitchen also offers free solid speed wifi, which on the island of Ibiza is like finding a pot of gold. Yes sadly most Ibiza cafes and hotels are yet to offer reliable fast internet. It seemed to us that the only decent reception could be found in St Antoni, so skinny Kitchen makes the perfect ‘island office’ if you’re a fellow nomad entrepreneur like me you’ll appreciate their connection speed and service.
The Skinny Kitchen menu is overwhelming in the best way possible, so we’ve chosen our top 6 dishes for you to try when you visit!

Skinny Kitchen: Protein Pancakes

Skinny Kitchen’s Protein pancakes are seriously special. Designed to be shared Skinny offers a wide range of flavours and themes for their infamous pancakes and we promise they don’t disapoint. It’s hard call on what we love more the Vanilla and blueberry yogurt with mulberries and lemon zest or Chocolate pancakes with85% cocoa chocolate and some raspberries. We’ll have both please!

Skinny Kitchen: Healthy Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake

Skinny Kitchen: Baked eggs and tomato

One of Skinny super popular dish’s and our personal favourites baked eggs and avacado is the perfect breakfast, brunch or lunch meal that’s sure to satisfy. There’s a great mix of good fats, carbs and protein as this dish is cooked with coconut oil and is made on a bed of sweat potato cubes combined with tomato, fresh chilli, chorizo. If you’re wanting a vego option like us you can easily ask for no chorizo and you’ve got a vegetation friendly recovery lunch!

Skinny Kitchen: Protein waffles

If the chocolate protein pancakes weren’t enough then here are the signature protein waffles to push you over the edge. Drizzled with 85% cocoa chocolate and some raspberries or strawberries these bad boys are drool worthy.

Skinny Kitchen: Vegetarian and Vegan options.

There’s a wide range of vegetarian dishes and vegan friendly options at skinny. Two of our favouites though (it was too hard to choose one) would have to be the Perfect refreshing, light summer salad. Watermelon, sprout and walnut with homemade honey and mustard dressing and the Zucchini Pasta with fresh basil, pesto and tomato zucchini noodles topped with parmesan and pine nuts. So clean and fresh!
